Grand Junction

The monument was a short drive from our campground in Grand Junction. The drive around the rim road is 23 miles of some very unusual rock formations. This canyon is so much different from the other mountains and scenery in Colorado. Quite spectacular but very different.

One of the main rock formations is Independence Monument. How those folks climbed to the top is beyond me. We did get to see them rappel down part way. We couldn’t see how they got the rest of the way down.
