Time to head to Denver. We found us a campground in a suburb of Denver at Golden, CO. Getting to Denver turned out to be pretty interesting. I thought that Denver was in the mountains because it’s known as the mile high City (Elevation 5,280 Ft.) but that is not the case. There are no mountains East of Denver but west of Denver is another story. We had to climb over some mountain passes just so that we could descend down into Denver.
Golden is a small town that is just at the foothills of the mountains as you come into Denver from the west. The Campground that we stayed in was actually a part of the city of Golden, Clear Creek Park. It was a small campground with plenty of trees. It was a bit tight to maneuver the RV in there but it was worth it. We were right near Clear Creek which runs right through town. The creek has a bike trail and quite a few rapids. There seemed to be constant activity on the creek from swimmers (with their dogs) to Kayaks and tubers. It was very entertaining.
