We finally got around to leaving the Denver area and heading out in search of more scenery or whatever.
We planned to start working our way north to Yellowstone National Park. We read recently that Yellowstone Park is the number 1 vacation destination in the US. So we got out our handy-dandy campground directory and started calling campgrounds in the Grand Teton and Yellowstone Park area. We found that they are full and that their rates are very high priced for campgrounds. We finally managed to get a reservation east of the Grand Teton National Park for Jul 17.
We planned to travel to Rawlins, WY, and then to Rock Springs, WY, in order to get to our campground Jul 17 at Moran, WY.
As we headed up into Wyoming we found that they have quite a bit of wind in the southern part of the state. It is a little bit of a challenge to be driving a big rig in 25 Mph winds with gusts to 35. We finally got to Rawlins and camped in a campground which was really a large gravel field with plenty of wind. Even parked the motor-home rocked a bit with the wind gusts.
